Soft Surroundings is searching for a Site Merchandiser for our St. Louis headquarters. This is the perfect opportunity for an innovative, data-driven digital marketer with a background in managing web experiences. Day-to-day you'll leverage data to continually improve the overall user experience, collaborate with various teams to lead strategy execution, and work with our IT team to ensure site standards and optimization are maintained. The role will assist in the planning and execution of all site content including promotional campaigns, homepages, landing pages and all on-site marketing campaigns.


  • Oversee day-to-day website operations, including website communications strategy, site content calendar and updating site assets
  • Plan and implement digital merchandising strategies and programs to engage audiences and drive conversions
  • Assess and improve website search engine optimization (SEO) results and implement SEO best practices, specifically through content maintenance, development, and optimizations
  • Develop and implement referral marketing programs, including utilization and optimization of our solution review program
  • Analyze results --evaluating web traffic and metrics to help measure and inform web updates and strategies with a focus on improving conversion and delivering on business KPIs
  • Collaborate with IT colleagues to manage/troubleshoot technical issues and audit releasing programming.
  • Regularly prepare monitoring reports and conduct audits to improve content, site architecture and site functionality; this includes monitoring trends in digital marketing and web best practices, new online platforms and making recommendations on the use of new tools
  • Ensure best in class digital and site execution with a focus on accuracy, customer experience and details.
  • Monitor current industry trends to develop guidelines and best practices in web and digital systems
  • Forecast web traffic and work with IT department to accommodate times of high volume.
  • Collaborate with conversion optimization vendors to develop concepts for A/B testing through market research and customer points of friction.
  • Manage high-level department reporting and other reporting as needed.


  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 3+ years in ecommerce, digital merchandising, or web production
  • Ability to draw key insights from analyzing data.
  • Spreadsheet, word processing and database skills.
  • Proven record of working with teams to troubleshoot issues and challenges.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to effectively multi-task to meet deadlines.
  • Basic HTML knowledge is a plus.
  • Google Analytics Certification and experience with Google Tag Manager is a plus.
